Epic released their third and final promotional image for Fortnite Season 9. The new image might reveal more than we first thought.

Season 9 is literally hours away at this point, but fans can't stop speculating as to what it will bring. The latest teaser might have given us more details than we first thought.

If you look closely at the skin teased in the third promotional image, you can see a shape on the arm of the character. This isn't just any shape - it's the shape of the Fortnite map.

There's a small twist with this shape, however, as @HYPEX points out. The ice area of the current map sticks out, but there's nothing like that in this character's outline.

This detail hints that the ice area of the map will be melting, or at least receding a bit. This makes sense when you consider that this season will cover the summer months, and factor in the volcanic rock that nailed the bottom of Polar Peak.

Polar Peak is my favorite place on the map to land right now, so it would be a shame to see it go. The detail does support my theory that Greasy Grove will be coming back in Season 9, though.

With the new Fortnite Season only hours away, it's unlikely we'll get any more details outside of the customary gun-jumping the Microsoft or Sony stores tend to do ahead of each season.

We'll keep you posted with any more details, so follow us on Twitter @FortniteTracker.
