New Fortnite Leak Points to the Return of Shadow Stones

Are you missing the old days of Fortnite? Well, a new leak suggests that one particular Season 6 mechanic will be making its way back into the game.

Season six marked one of the best seasons in terms of Fortnite lore. We had Kevin, the corrupted areas, and the eventual season-ending event that transported every Fortnite player into another dimension.

Well, it looks like one element of Season 6 might be making a return: the Shadow Stones. For those who need a refresher, these were the purple stones that Kevin left behind. They allowed players to become invisible and phase through structures.

According to @Hypex, these stones will be an item, similar to the way the rifts turned into the Rift-to-Go item.

In theory, you'll be able to pick up this item, use it, become invisible, fast and gain the ability to phase for a short time.

It's interesting to consider this item, but anything like this is going to cause some ripple effects in the competitive community. This item is going to allow players to rotate uncontested in late-game competitive situations, so I can see it being a must-carry during the World Cup.

Fortnite pros have a lot of gripes about Epic adding new weapons and items to their game right before major events. It doesn't look like Epic cares very much, though, so we can probably expect this item in the news feed during the World Cup event.
