Rumors of a "Gun Game" have been circulating in Fortnite for a while now. A new leak gives us more information on the rules and suggests it might be the next LTM we see.
A Gun Game LTM is one of the more exciting prospects in Fortnite - outside of the possibility that Epic will revert the recent changes they made to the rules.
The Gun Game concept has been in several popular shooter games. CS:GO, Call of Duty, and Battlefield are only three high-profile examples of fan-favorite Gun Game modes.
In a traditional Gun Game, players all start with the same weapon - usually a pistol - and work their way through each until they're the first to get a kill with the final gun. There are also usually some setback rules involved. If someone melees you, for instance, you go back a level.
It looks like Epic will be innovating on the classic game mode with a bit of a twist.
Reverse Gun Game
— Lucas7yoshi_ // Fortnite BR Leaks & News (@lucas7yoshi_) April 2, 2019
All players start with the same powerful weapon. Eliminating a player grants a weapon of slightly lesser power. The first to make it through every weapon, from best to worst, earns the Victory Royale!
NORMAL Gun Game does not have a file (??)
Reverse Gun Game is all we have information about at the moment, and it appears as though it will replace a traditional Gun Game. Instead of everyone starting with a gray pistol, we might be starting with a gold Scar.
Other leaks suggest there will only be 20 people in a lobby, which means the map will probably be limited as well. We might be spawning on the ground instead of in the air - possibly in a Creative Mode-inspired map.
We'll have to wait until the next patch until we get more information about the Gun Game, but hopefully, it comes sooner rather than later.
