There has been news of a hoverboard coming to Fortnite for a while. Now, though, it looks like we're finally on the cusp of getting it.

Fortnite has been teasing a hoverboard since the beginning of season 7. Based on the loading screen they added into the game, it appears as though the team hoped to have this out a while ago.

Now, though, we're getting our honest first look at what the new "Driftboard" will look like when it's added into the game.

The news comes courtesy of Fortnite dataminer @JH9 on Instagram. He found a way to get into an upcoming LTM early and pick up the Driftboard before it was released to the public.

The LTM is called "Driftin'" and @JH9 recorded some footage of him messing around with the new item. Unfortunately, the video has since been deleted due to a copyright claim by Epic Games - lending further credibility to this leak.

In the video, though, you can see the player jumping, speed boosting, and doing tricks while riding the Driftboard. When he flips in the air, his character grabs the board as if she was completing a snowboarding trick.

It's unclear whether or not you'll be able to shoot while riding on the board. There's also no information on when the Driftboard is coming to the game. Update 7.40 was set to be the last patch of the season, so we may have to wait until season 8 to get our hands (or feet) onto this new mobility item.
