Fortnite boasts a competitive scene with an incredible history full of emotion. Many great players have left their mark, captivating us to this day. But among the familiar faces, a new wave of players has emerged, reshaping the gaming landscape.

At the end of 2023, Fortnite reached new heights with the FNCS Global Championship event, which brought together the best duos from each region in a single lobby. Meanwhile, anticipation is high for 2024, with the competitive scene expected to grow exponentially as the fanbase continues to expand. The introduction of new gameplay mechanics only adds to the excitement. But before we discuss what's in store for this year, let's look back at 2023 and recognize the standout player.

The Player of the Year should be determined by the results throughout the entire year, and despite not winning the FNCS Global Championship, Kami emerged with the best overall performance.

He showcased his skills in every game mode, teaming up with Setty to secure 5th and 4th places in the FNCS Major 2 and finishing as the runner-up in the FNCS Global Championship. Additionally, he demonstrated his excellence in no-build mode alongside Japko, achieving a 5th place at DreamHack Summer 2023 and clinching victory at Gamers8.

While solo performances were less emphasized this year, Kami still achieved an impressive 4th place finish at Red Bull Contested this summer. As the top earner this year, amassing over 700k, Kami has proven that he not only conquered the competition but surpassed expectations.

Unsurprisingly, he also clinched the prestigious Best Player of the Year award presented by the Fortnite Competitive Awards.
