Fortnite v22.40 update: 40 v 40 LTM, New Octane car + Grapple Glider

Jump into the Fortnite v22.40 update to discover the Big Battle LTM and a couple of exciting new mobility options.

It was recently confirmed that we are in the final weeks of Fortnite Chapter 3. However, this doesn’t mean that Epic has gone easy on the content in this last patch.

Here’s what you need to know!

Big Battle LTM

Earlier this year, leakers reported that a fresh version of the popular 50v50 game mode was in the works. Well, it’s finally here – introducing the Big Battle LTM.

This Limited Time Mode features two teams of 40, jostling for dominance in Fortnite Zero Build. Matches start with first zone already closing, and players spawn in with a basic loadout.

The Big Battle LTM will be live from 10 AM ET on November 15.

New Octane Vehicle in BR

Rocket League’s signature car was added to Fortnite Creative in a previous update. Now, the Octane has arrived on the Battle Royale Island.

It’s available in Battle Royale and Zero Build and is incredibly fun to drive. The Octane has rocket boosters and supersonic speed, plus the ability to jump, double jump, dodge, take flight, and drive on walls.

Grapple Glider

Need another way to cover ground quickly? Pick up a Grapple Glider from Chests, Chrome Chests, Supply Drops, or on the floor.

Grapple onto a hard surface and your Glider will redeploy mid-air to carry you safely back down to earth. The Grapple Glider has limited uses, so use it sparingly.

It appears that while the Octane vehicle will not be available in competitive playlists, the Grapple Glider is in both Arena and tournaments.
