“Kami” and “Setty” are your FNCS Invitational 2022 champions!

This was a huge weekend for competitive Fortnite fans. Top players from all over the planet gathered in Raleigh, North Carolina for the first official in-person tournament since the World Cup.

With the total FNCS Invitational 2022 prize pool standing at $1,000,000 USD, the pressure was on.

It all came down to the final match and arguably the craziest moment in competitive Fortnite history. Queasy and Veno decided to take the fight directly to leaders Kami and Setty off-spawn.

A respectable play, but the Become Legends boys narrowly clutched up the fight. One bullet was the difference in crowning Kami and Setty as FNCS Invitational 2022 winners.

Is Fortnite esports back?

Overall, the FNCS Invitational was a real success – and a reminder of just how exciting competitive Fortnite can be.

The production and venue were fantastic. Having a live audience, including a bunch of popular creators like Ali "SypherPK" Hassan was beautiful to see.

It was slightly disappointing how much viewership fell after the initial hype. People claiming Twitch drops, technical issues delaying games, and the overall fatigue of watching 6 long Battle Royale matches all played a part in this.

However, everyone there seemed to love it. Most of the pros spoke well in interviews, and it felt as if the scene has matured at least a little. There’s definitely hope for the future!
