Fortnite has been clamping-down on leaks of late, but they accidentally gave us one ahead of New Years.
As you may have noticed, the Fortnite leaks have slowed to a crawl. Sure, data miners are able to get their hands on a few skins, pickaxes, gliders, etc. when a new patch drops, but it's a far cry from what we used to see on the day of the patch.
The last patch, for instance, provided us with a few leaked skins to satisfy our appetite for a time. Unlike previous seasons, however, there were a few skins that fell through the cracks. No one saw the Krampus skin before it came out, and everyone was surprised when we saw the Fishstick hit the item shop.
Epic has been plugging their leaks on all fronts, including those found in the game files. They've been taking action against internal leakers and heavily encrypting their files to make it harder on those trying to get a glimpse at early items.
Apparently, though, the person running the Fortnite Instagram account got a bit trigger-happy with one of the unreleased skins. Fortnite posted an image of the skin to their Instagram story, which was quickly screengrabbed before it was removed.

As you can see, the skin appears to have some fairy wings or a snowflake as a back bling. It's kind of a hipster-elf style skin, and will likely be in the shop sometime around New Years.
This might not be the most exciting skin Fortnite has released. It certainly won't make the same kind of waves that the Fishstick skin has, but it's a pretty cool addition to the holiday-themed Fortnite catalog.
We'll probably see this one at purple rarity - blue at the very lowest. It's also possible that this skin is related to the 14 Days of Fortnite. We can only hope that one of the upcoming presents is a free skin.
