Latest Fortnite update: Ranger Shotgun Unvaulted + Next Big Patch Leaked

The Ranger Shotgun is back for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4.

We are less than two weeks into the new Fortnite season, so it’s not surprising that there haven’t been any huge updates yet. However, Epic has still deployed a hotfix to freshen up the content in-game.

Here’s what’s new:

Ranger Shotgun Unvaulted

Who remembers this one? The Ranger Shotgun was only briefly available during Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2. Now it makes its return seemingly to all game modes.

The Ranger deals good damage at a longer range than other Shotguns. It is single shot, but luckily the reload speed is pretty quick. Accuracy is the key to success with this weapon.

Additionally, you can now reload while aiming it, which wasn’t possible before.

Find the Ranger Shotgun in Chests, Supply Drops and Sharks, as well as on the floor around the Island.

Birthday Items Removed

Fortnite Battle Royale’s 5^th Birthday celebration has come to an end. Therefore, items such as Birthday Cake and Presents have been removed in this hotfix.

This also means that you can no longer complete the special Birthday Quests to earn rewards. Don’t worry though, there’s still time to net some free cosmetics with the Reboot Rally Quests!

When Is the Next Fortnite Update?

Sure, a hotfix is better than nothing, but major content updates are way more fun.

Popular leaker @iFireMonkey has confirmed that the Fortnite v22.10 patch has been added to the staging servers. It will be released next week, most likely on October 4.
