The Fortnite v21.20 patch is live with a slew of exciting gameplay changes. Look out for a new POI, weapon updates, and an unvaulted fan favourite!

Charge SMG

Here’s a unique new way to play those close quarters battles. The Charge SMG works similarly to the Charge Shotgun from Chapter 2. Simply hold down the trigger to charge it up, and release to fire.

An on-screen gauge will let you know what percentage charge you are at. The longer you hold it, the more bullets you’ll shoot.

You can find the Charge SMG in Chests, Supply Drops, Reality Saplings, Sharks, and on the floor. However, it is not available in competitive playlists.

The Combat SMG has been removed from all game modes, but the Stinger is still available as an alternative.

Shuffled Shrines

As warned by Epic last week, the temple between The Joneses and Rocky Reels has transformed. In its place stands Shuffled Shrines, a new POI themed on the Indiana Jones collaboration.

There’s not a whole lot of extra loot, though you can now complete a puzzle to access a hidden room. Just be careful of the any loose stones and watch out for traps!

Starting 9AM ET, you will be able to complete Indiana Jones’ Battle Pass Quests to unlock his outfit and other items.

Port-A-Fort

A Fortnite Chapter 1 classic, the Port-A-Fort has returned for Season 3. Throw this down to instantly assemble your own personal fort and grab the highground.

This is the perfect item for Zero Build as you can quickly whip up some cover if you find yourself stranded. Port-A-Forts are not present in competitive game modes.

Save the World

All BR movement abilities have been added to Save the World mode. This includes Sprinting, Sliding, Mantling, Door Slamming, and Crouching.

Plus, there’s a new Hold to Repair feature which lets you sweep your reticle across multiple buildings or traps to repair or upgrade, rather than clicking everything individually.

Leaked Cosmetics

An upcoming set of skins will have a variant for every season in Chapter 1, such as the Tilted Trooper and Wailing Warrior. Check it out below courtesy of @HYPEX:

There is also potentially a free Outfit called “Xander” coming as part of the Refer-a-Friend scheme:
