Get ready to fight in the first Cash Cups of Fortnite C3:S2 and earn your place on the leaderboards.
While the launch of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 has been a huge hit with casual fans, competitive players have been feeling left in the dark. They are concerned to be facing another SMG-heavy weapon meta, and have received no communication from Epic Games regarding upcoming events.
With no end date given for the Arena Preseason, it looked as though it could be a long wait for tournaments to restart. However, it turns out that Cash Cups will be starting up again as soon as next week!
New Cash Cups have appeared in the compete tab (and our Events page), with the first one taking place on Monday, April 4. This suggests that Arena points will reset in tomorrow’s patch, giving players just days to reach Champions Division, though they may well lower the requirement for Week 1.
The Cash Cups are very similar to last season format wise and still occur across two rounds. There are Solos, Duos and Trios competitions and prizing also appears to be identical.
Here’s the schedule:
Duos Cash Cup & Hype Cups
Weekly on Mondays starting April 4
Round 2 on Wednesdays
Trios Hype Cups
Weekly on Fridays starting April 8
One round only
Solo Cash Cup & Hype Cups
Weekly on Saturdays starting April 9
Round 2 on Sundays
Official rules will be posted soon but on first impressions, it seems that they are just copy and pasting everything from Chapter 3 Season 1.
We can probably expect a competitive update blog post from Epic in the next few days with more details on Fortnite esports this season.
