A new image has surfaced displaying the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 game icon.

As we move towards the end of Fortnite Chapter 3’s debut season, many fans are noticing a lack of hype about what’s coming next. Part of the reason for this however, is that no one really seems to know when Season 2 is going to begin!

According to the Battle Pass screen on the official Fortnite website, the current season is set to run until March 19. Now that date is just a few days away, and Epic is yet to give any other indication that a new season is near.

Often, a huge in-game live event marks the end of a Fortnite season, but for whatever reason that isn’t happening this time round. The Console Champions Cup is also scheduled for March 19, and it is very unusual for a tournament to take place on the last day of a season.

Another idea floating around is that Season 2 could be delayed due to the war in Ukraine. Epic previously postponed the launch of C2:S3 in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, though with sadly no end in sight for Putin’s attack, this may not be an option.

Something else missing is any sort of Season 2 teasers on social media. We often see cryptic images on Twitter and Instagram, or special channels in the Fortnite Discord during the build up to a new season.

Leakers did predict that we may get the first teaser today, but as of yet nothing has been posted. One thing we do have though, is the Chapter 3 Season 2 menu icon, which at least gives a hint at the upcoming color scheme.

Additionally, some people believe a new tweet from the Doctor Who: Eve of the Daleks could be suggesting a Fortnite collaboration. They shared a video with a TARDIS which looks as though it could have been built in Fortnite Creative, alongside a hidden 12-digit string of numbers in the same format as a Creative Map code.

Right now, our assumption is that C3:S2 will still start on Sunday, March 20 as planned. If not, Epic tends to make these kind of updates on a Tuesday or Wednesday, and it’s not uncommon for them to tag an extra couple of days on after the date shown in the Battle Pass screen.

Stay tuned for more information as it comes to light.
