Strap in for a festive couple of weeks as Fortnite’s annual Winterfest celebration is on the horizon.

The first content update of Fortnite Chapter 3 is already here, only it hasn’t brought much content… yet. This patch is mainly getting everything set up for Winterfest in a few days’ time, but there are still one or two introductions.

Super Level Styles

New Super Level Styles have been added for the Season 1 Battle Pass skins. You will begin to unlock these awesome alternatives for the Shanta, Ronin, Lt. John Llama, Harlowe, and Spider-Man Outfits once you advance past level 140.

Personally, I think the Photo Negative, Scarlet Blackout and Gilded Reality Styles look great. Check them out below on Spider-Man courtesy of @HYPEX:

Gameplay Changes

A couple of major bugs were fixed in Tuesday’s patch including the irritating screen shaking that often happened when you were sliding or gliding. Split Screen mode has also reenabled.

No further balancing adjustments to weapons have been made since last week. However, the ammo counts of the Stinger SMG and Hunter Bolt-Action Sniper both now refresh earlier on in the reload animation.

Winterfest 2021

Leakers have confirmed that this year’s Winterfest event is scheduled to run from December 16 to January 6. Epic didn’t give much away in their blog post but it sounds as though it will be quite similar to previous ones.

According to @iFireMonkey, “The Winterfest 2021 Cabin will be in Creative Mode and will be a hub to link you to creative games all apart of the Winterfest Event”. There will once again be presents to open everyday with free rewards, and winter-themed challenges to complete.

Excitingly, @HYPEX mentioned that there will be two free skins up for grabs this time around. One is a frozen version of the popular Peely Outfit and the other is a Christmassy take on Isabelle, originally designed by concept artist @D3NNI_yt. Plus, a bonus blue Blizzabelle style will be an exclusive free bundle via the Epic Games Store for PC players.

As usual we can also expect Christmas trees to appear around the Island, a special Battle Bus and maybe a few new surprises. Other wintery cosmetics will soon appear in the Item Shop too, including the upcoming Black Ice Legends Bundle.
