Bring the battle to you…literally, with Fortnite’s new Grab-itron gun.
Ahead of the Ariana Grande Rift Tour event this weekend, Fortnite v17.30 brings yet more fresh content to Season 7. This includes a unique new item, plenty of leaked cosmetics and the beginning of some long-awaited map changes.
Grab-itron
The Alien scientists have been hard at work developing technology to use in the fight for the Fortnite Island. Their latest invention, the Grab-itron, allows you to harness the power of a UFO tractor beam in a handy little portable device.
Just as with Saucers, the Grab-itron can pull in objects (think cars, rocks and pretty much everything else) and yeet them at an enemy. According to Epic’s official blog post, “how much damage it deals depends on how big it is, what it’s made of, and it’s launch speed”.
You can also use it defensively by holding an object in front of you and using it as a shield to protect from incoming gunfire. They can be found in chests, on top of Abductors and onboard the Mothership, but are not available in competitive modes.
The Destruction of Slurpy Swamp
It’s finally happening! Having been leaked since early in the season, the Alien army is now starting to abduct a series of major POIs.
Slurpy Swamp is the first to go. It will happen in stages throughout the week, as the Mothership’s tractor beam slowly lifts chunks of land up towards it.
In the meantime, Slurpy has become a low-gravity zone, with extra IO Chests and Launch Pads spawning in. Coral Castle and Corny Complex are expected to face a similar fate shortly.
Upcoming Cosmetics
Dataminers have found a bunch of exciting new skins and accessories that are set to release in the near future. My personal favorite is the customizable “Human bill” Outfit, displayed below by @HYPEX, which features over 4,000 potential style combinations:
Owners of Rebirth Harley Quinn, Party Trooper and Doublecross can look forward to additional variants and Star Lord will be returning to the Item Shop.
