Aliens continue to take over the Fortnite Island, transforming the landscape and introducing fresh technology.

The thrilling Season 7 action continues as Epic Games return from their summer vacation with the Fortnite v17.10 – July 6 Hotfix. Although plenty has changed, the fact that this wasn’t a whole new patch means we could expect another update sooner than usual.

It looks like Coral Castle will survive, at least until v17.20 arrives, but another popular location has been invaded…

Alien Nanites

Available in-game right now, Alien Nanites are a throwable device that will create a temporary low-gravity biome. They form a large purple box with a similar atmosphere to the Mothership, making you slowly float around. Descend faster by crouching and remember you will not take fall damage if you jump and land outside of the low-grav zone.

Additionally, Alien Nanites can be used as a crafting material. Combine them with the following weapons to get a futuristic upgrade:

  • Rare+ Submachine Gun to Kymera Ray Gun

  • Rare+ Assault Rifle to Pulse Rifle

  • Rare+ Sniper Rifle to Rail Gun

The new item can be found in normal chests and floor loot, as well as on board the Mothership and Abductors. They are common rarity and drop in stacks of one.

Holly Hatchery

Holly Hedges has been overrun by Aliens and renamed as Holly Hatchery (watch out for Parasite eggs). An Alien biome similar to the ones created by Nanites has appeared around the main building and is starting to spread throughout the town.

It’s likely that this will happen to more and more POIs as the season goes on, unless the IO can step in and fight them off.

Mythic Ray Gun

Zyg, from the Season 7 Battle Pass and an Alien called Choppy, are back and patrolling the Island as a team. Track down and eliminate them to procure their Mythic Ray Gun.

According to leaker @HYPEX, they are currently spawning at Hydro 16. They are then set to make their way through Weeping Woods towards the middle of the map, up past Pleasant Park to Craggy Cliffs, and finally back down to Retail Row.
