Who needs Shockwaves or Launch Pads when they’ve got a quiver full of Arrows!
Part of what made Fortnite such a big success early on was the incredibly diverse loot pool and opportunity to create so many unique moments. From Trap Towers to Sky Bases, imaginative gamers were always trying to conjure up new ways to outsmart, or in some cases out-meme their enemies.
One such strategy was Rocket Riding. With the right setup, players could (and still can) send their teammates flying across the map aboard an RPG missile. This birthed countless famous trick-shot clips, surprise attacks and inevitably, plenty of sad yet hilarious fails.
More recently, players found that the same concept can be applied to consumables. Since Chapter 2 Season 2, it has been possible to throw items like Shield Potions rather than having to drop them. Well, judge the angle correctly and you can hop on for a quick boost of mobility, though this technique never really took off.
Now though, it seems we have unearthed the craziest projectile riding method of all. Reddit user u/twstdwrstr shared a video in which they were quite literally yeeted off the Island by an Arrow.
Funnily enough, the Bow shot was actually fired by an AI opponent. The Arrow arrived just after its target had jumped, carrying them all the way from Colossal Crops, past the Lighthouse and into the ocean.
Upon further research, this isn’t the first time this has happened, and therefore it may theoretically be possible to replicate it deliberately. However, the speed and size of the Arrows make this infinitely more difficult than Rocket Riding.
So, until someone calculates the exact timing required to pull this off, you will need either a very patient friend, or a huge amount of luck to do it… oh and a lot of Arrows.
