Fortnite v16.20 patch: Vehicle Mods, HUGE Creative Mode changes & more

It’s content time baby! Update v16.20 is live and it’s an exciting one for Fortnite Creative fans.

Following an extended period of server downtime, the Fortnite v16.20 build is ready to go. Expect gameplay adjustments in and out of Battle Royale as well as a whole bunch of new upcoming cosmetics.

Chonkers Off-Road Tires

When weapon attachments were being leaked back in January, it was hinted that Vehicle Mods were also on the way. The first of these mods has now arrived in the form of the Chonkers Off-Road Tires.

Head to one of the many gas stations around the Island and look for a pile of tires that you can interact with. They will take up a spot in your inventory when you pick them up, so make sure you have a car nearby.

To equip the Off-Road Tires, simply throw them at your vehicle of choice and they will snap on automatically. As the name suggests, these tire upgrades will let you drive quicker off-road, and even help you traverse your way up those steep hills and mountains.

NPC Changes & New Mythic

The Sparkplug AI can be found at the Catty Corner garage, which has been given a makeover and renamed as Chonker’s Customs. She offers challenges related to modding vehicles, sells 8 Mechanical Parts and does weapon upgrades, suddenly making Catty Corner a very strong POI.

Additionally, the Spire Assassin’s Mythic Primal Shotgun has been replaced with a Mythic Recycler. This new item is nowhere near as powerful and likely comes as part of Epic’s efforts to balance the Season 6 Shotgun meta.

Creative Mode Improvements

All Joyride vehicles from Battle Royale mode are now available in Fortnite Creative. This is something that map builders have been craving for a long time and will undoubtedly lead to plenty of crazy new game modes (think Whiplash drag races or Mudflaps vs Snipers)!

Furthermore, after a successful beta period, the option to create 50-player games is now open to all creators. This, combined with the changes above, means endless possibilities for fresh Creative mode concepts.

Leaked Cosmetics

Take a look at four new soon-to-be-released skins below courtesy of popular Fortnite leaker @HYPEX. These include Princess Felicity, Grimey, Eco and Aspen:

The Cryptic, Mystify and Bushranger Outfits will all be getting new styles, with the blue “Dreamranger” Bushranger variant set to become part of Marvel star Brie Larson’s Locker Bundle.
