The Fortnite v16.10 build is live, hop in and explore an ever-evolving primal world.

And just like that, we’re two weeks deep into Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6! The first content update brings new wildlife, weapon adjustments, and touches on the crafting system.

Dangerous creatures roam the land

In keeping with the beginning of the easter-themed Spring Breakout event, eggs are hatching across the Island. Wolves and Boars are no longer the most fearsome predators on the map, it’s now Raptors that you need to watch out for.

These blood-thirsty dinosaurs can be tamed by throwing down meat to distract them, before sneaking up and interacting. Both the Rex and Raptor (Character) NPC’s now offer Raptor-related challenges to help you earn some extra gold.

Weapon balancing

Having listened to feedback from the community, Epic has implemented a series of adjustments to Shotguns.

According to popular Fortnite leaker @HYPEX, the changes are as follows:

Makeshift Shotgun

  • Faster equip

  • Clip size increased from 2 to 3

  • Reload time approximately 5% quicker

Primal Shotgun

  • Fire rate decreased from 2.7 to 2.3

Crafting improvements

The crafting system has also been adapted. Whereas previously all crafting would cost 4 Bones or Mechanical Parts, the number of materials required now scales based on item rarity.

  • Grey Weapon – 2

  • Green Weapon – 4

  • Blue Weapon – 6

Furthermore, it is now possible for Animal Bones and Mechanical Parts to spawn as floor loot.

This means that getting your hands on a Pump or Primal Shotgun off-spawn is a lot easier, which will make early-game fighting much less stressful. At the same time, the higher price to craft with Blue weapons reduces the number of players running around with the overpowered Purple variants.

Leaked cosmetics

On top of the skins revealed in Monday’s Spring Breakout announcement, a new Anime Legends Bundle is set to arrive shortly.

Additionally, @FunGameLeaks shared a selection of upcoming style variants for existing Fortnite outfits, including Battle Pass favorites Tarana, Raz and Spire Assassin.

Files concerning the previously detailed Junk Gun and Exotic rarity Unstable Bow have again been updated, but neither appear to be available in-game just yet.
