Grefg showcased his upcoming Icon Series Outfit and explained that he would be hosting a one-off “Floor is Lava” tournament.

David Cánovas Martínez, better known as “TheGrefg” or simply “Grefg”, is a Spanish content creator and co-owner of European esports organization, Team Heretics.

Back in January 2020 when the Fortnite Icon Series was announced, Epic Games mentioned that Grefg would be one of the first to join, alongside Ninja and Loserfruit. However, a series of delays effected the release of his skin, and we saw the Lachlan set take priority.

On Monday, Grefg finally had the opportunity to unveil his new cosmetics, and boy was it worth the wait! Social media was flooded with messages of congratulations from gamers worldwide as the Spaniard smashed through all previous Twitch records.

At its peak, the stream reached 2,468,668 concurrent viewers, more than doubling figures from the PlayStation 5 reveal and ELeagueTV’s coverage of a CS:GO Major Grand Final.

So, what do we know about the skin?

The Grefg Icon Series set will include a reactive Outfit and Back Bling, taking inspiration from the Dragon Ball manga, of which he is a big fan. There is also a stylish Pickaxe and an emote, which depicts Grefg dancing with a hovering controller.

We can expect this gear to arrive in the Fortnite Item Shop on January 16, at 7 PM ET, priced between 2,000 and 3,000 V-Bucks. Players will also get the chance to earn early and free access to the skin by competing in a special tournament based on the “Floor is Lava” LTM. This event is scheduled to take place on January 14 and 15.

Additionally, according to popular leaker @iFireMonkey, one lucky person could get their hands on a life-size replica of Grefg’s controller-themed Pickaxe. To do this, you will need to get the fastest time on his Deathrun, which is one of the featured maps in the Creative Hub.

It is likely that Epic will provide more details and an official confirmation in the coming days, so stay tuned for updates.
