The first major Fortnite event of Season 5 is coming this weekend and there’s plenty of money up for grabs.
Following Epic Games’ recent update regarding the future of competitive Fortnite, fans have been wondering what will fill the gap between now and the start of FNCS Trios in February. Well now we know!
The Frosty Frenzy Trios tournament will take place on December 12 and 13, and features a total prize pool of $5,000,000 across all regions.
If you’re planning on playing, then prepare for an action-packed weekend. Frosty Frenzy is broken up into four individual sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon each day. Each session comprises two rounds, with only the top teams making it into Round 2.
Be sure to check the start and end times of each session in advance so you don’t miss out.

Fight in the Frosty Frenzy Tournament for a chance to earn a share of the $5,000,000 prize pool!

The prize money is spread pretty thinly, meaning this is a fantastic chance to get your first Fortnite earnings. Winnings will be shared evenly among each member of your Trio.
Additionally, all teams who pick up at least 5 points in any region will unlock the “Skully Claus” cosmetic spray as a thank you for taking part.
Sadly for console and mobile players, the Frosty Frenzy event is not platform specific. Many were hoping for a Duos Winter Royale with a split prize pool like last year, but this now seems almost guaranteed not to happen.
We will have to wait and see what the future holds in terms of cross-platform competition, but for now, you best get hunting for your Trio!
Each day will have a different scoring system, full details on the format and a prize breakdown for every region can be found in the Frosty Frenzy Official Rules.
