Downtime has now finished and the v14.50 build is live for players on PC, Xbox, Switch and Mobile.

Epic Games have confirmed that the latest Fortnite update has been delayed for PlayStation 4 users. Until then, they will be able to continue playing on v14.40. Keep an eye on the @FortniteStatus Twitter account for more news.

After a fun two weeks, Tuesday’s patch marks the end of Fortnitemares 2020. Epic accidentally removed the Fortnitemares challenges a day early and say that they are working on a plan to make it up to anyone affected.

Iron Man Jetpack

The new Stark Industries Jetpack is available in-game now and comes in Epic rarity. Whilst the item seems to be fairly similar to the original Fortnite Jetpacks, Tony Stark may have made a couple of improvements.

Aside from the Iron Man theme and sound effects, some players have claimed that movement feels smoother. There’s also a number next to your inventory that displays how much charge is remaining. The Jetpack can be found as floor loot in various places around the map.

End of Season Event

Whilst we still don’t know quite how this season’s event is going to look, it is predicted to be the biggest and most game-changing one so far. Fortnite leaker @iFireMonkey shared the codename “Junior” and countdown image during downtime.

It is likely that the event will be centred around Marvel and Galactus, perhaps we will experience a war between the heroes and anti-heroes. The real question is how will it affect the future of Fortnite?

Bug Fixes

Below are all of the known issues addressed by the v14.50 patch.

Battle Royale

  • Cozy Chomps and Ravage Outfits appearing as Ramirez.

  • THWIP! Legacy not being awarded.

Creative

  • Baller Movement is unnatural after exiting.

  • There is no "Back to Hub" option in Creative Play server.

Save the World

  • Weapons and perks not functioning correctly after 14.30.

  • Taking Storm Damage cancels Hoverboard mounting.

  • Unresponsive after opening Loot Llama then opening settings menu right after.

Mobile

  • Nintendo Switch audio may be delayed or dropped out.

The v14.50 build also prepares Fortnite for its release on next-gen consoles. Epic recently revealed what we can expect on the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, with some players disappointed to learn that gameplay will remain at 60 FPS.
