Being a pro Fortnite player requires precise aim, swift mechanics, and… taping your keyboard together?
Apparently so, as the competitive skill separation becomes slimmer and slimmer. And by watching Bugha, it’s pretty obvious he has taken the pursuit for a competitive edge to a truly unprecedented level
Sporting a keyboard cam on stream, viewers were quick to notice that Bugha had used a big ‘ole piece of scotch tape draped over his A and CapsLock keys

But why would Bugha do this? Simply put: double movement keybinds. So what exactly are double movement keybinds and why does Bugha taping his keyboard together help him?
The story with double movement keybinds go back to 2019 when players discovered a way for keyboard and mouse players to emulate controller movement. Tips and Tricks YouTuber Jerian covered this topic extensively

TL;DR Keyboard players can map a secondary keybind for Move Left and Move Right and press both keys at the same time to emulate precise controller movement
Say you set your secondary Look Left bind to “C”; in this case pressing A and C at the same time would yield the optimal result. Utilizing double movement binds would allow you to look in one direction and move in another; a very useful ability when tunneling on the move
With this information, it makes sense why Bugha is taping his keyboard. Bugha set his secondary Look Left keybind to CapsLock and taped it to his A key. When he presses A, he’s also pressing CapsLock automatically
While unconventional, players are pointing out just how bad Epic needs to offer keyboard and mouse players an integrated double movement solution. It’s a pretty massive advantage for controller players that needs looking into
Bugha also points out that while he uses a neat trick to “not get left behind (in the meta),” other players are cheating by using key remappers to achieve the same result. Notable players like Tfue have been accused of using third party software to remap keybinds to achieve double movement
I guess if you’re playing Fortnite at the highest level, you’re going to have to tape your 100 dollar keyboard together with a 2 cent piece of scotch tape… Maybe Epic can just, you know, add double movement for keyboard before Fortnite gets hit with a taping epidemic
