Get ready to experience Fortnite on a new generation of console.

Sony left gamers around the world with plenty to talk about following their PlayStation 5 showcase event.

As well as showing off some exciting new games and features, they also finally revealed the PS5 prices and launch date. A follow up tweet confirmed that the device will be available for pre-order as soon as tomorrow.

Towards the end of the broadcast, we got a sneak peek at how Fortnite will look in next-gen. The short trailer included a bunch of upcoming effects and sounds.

Popular leaker @Hypex noted a new rocket effect and sound, new death sounds, new clouds, new Chug Jug effect, new fire effect and potentially some new lighting.

Epic also confirmed that Fortnite will be playable as soon as the console launches in November. Of course, the game will still be free and all of your progression and purchases will carry over.

It will be interesting to see exactly how the PlayStation 5 and it’s Xbox rival will affect console Fortnite. Increased FPS and performance may make these devices more viable in competition, and hopefully Epic will add more graphics settings like the option to disable shadows.

With only a couple of months until release, we won’t have long to wait to try out Fortnite on the PS5.
