It can be argued that perfecting your shotgun aim is the most valued aiming mechanic in all of Fortnite. Given that you can use your builds and other crafty mechanics to make virtually every fight a close range pvp altercation, being able to confirm every close range elimination with consistency becomes a valuable asset

To become a master aimer, one must first fix his or her technique. Unknowingly missing out on current day optimizations will put you one step behind the pack and set you up for failure. Here’s some of our best tips to have consistent aim

  • Quick Zoom, ads (scope in) right before you shoot your shotgun shot instead of holding it down for multiple seconds. You’ll get the increased accuracy and damage buff without the reduced mobility

  • Double Tap Charge, double tapping your charge shotgun will instantly shoot it similar to a pump shotgun. Alternatively, keyboard players can bind mouse wheel to fire and scroll their mouse wheel to shoot even quicker

  • Aim Placement, aim for the chest while going for shotgun shots. This ensures the maximum pellet spread will hit your opponent while still leaving an opportunity to hit a headshot (2x multiplier)

On the flip side, aim mastery is also a learned behaviour. Practicing for hours at a time is exactly what will elevate you from an average player to an aimbotting king. But how should you get this practice?

If you’re a PC player, you can’t go wrong with booting up Kovaak’s for a quick grind session. But for the sake of training your aim, tracking routines simply won’t do the job

Instead, load up tile frenzy to focus on flick accuracy to simulate the instant hitscan accuracy of a shotgun. Take a look at Tracer’s world record tile frenzy time for some encouragement

To those who are playing from console or mobile, we have a solution for you as well. Using the Aim Facility 2.0, which is hand tailored around shotgun aim, will be your path to victory
