It looks like Fortnite may be introducing a very interesting new weapon. We may have to wait a while though.
Since the beginning of Fortnite Chapter 2, the Shotgun meta stayed the same for the longest time. You either used the Pump, or the Tac. However, the recent introduction of the Charge Shotgun for Season 3 has shaken things up drastically.
Some people love it, some hate it, but it certainly forces you to play differently. Well, now it seems that another Shotgun, with its own unique shooting mechanic is on the horizon.
Trusted Fortnite leaker @HYPEX shared details of the new weapon, which developers have nicknamed “Dragon”. The shotty will come in Epic and Legendary variants, and boasts some pretty solid damage stats, even at a longer range.
This is strange and i just noticed it, there's another shotgun in the works.. the codename of it is "Dragon", and will come in EPIC & LEGENDARY rarities, here are the current stats they set for it (also its weird that it has 4 bullets but also costs 4 bullets per fire) pic.twitter.com/6KFWGX7ccx

The most intriguing feature though, is that it seems to fire its entire four bullet clip in one go. It also reloads all four bullets at once, which is quite slow. It sounds like the “Dragon” is all about dealing big damage, but as with the Pump, a follow up spray weapon will be essential.
Fans are already theorising, with some suggesting that the Shotgun will shoot incendiary rounds. This isn’t too crazy of an idea, with the new Firefly Jar item introducing the burning mechanic to Fortnite.
Hypex made it clear that this new gun is unlikely to enter the Battle Royale loot pool for a couple of months. Back in April he posted a similar leak of the Charge Shotgun, so maybe this will be introduced in Season 4.
Fortnite has always been a game which tries to keep players on their toes, constantly forcing them to adapt to new metas. Excluding the two or three months when the Combat Shotgun reigned supreme, the choice has almost always been Pump or Tac. Perhaps now they want to get away from this.
